Mogoshadi Anita Mamoepa, 43, is part of the Buhle group of the Marishana Centre. She joined SEF in 2018. How she ended up joining SEF is a ‘full circle moment’ story and one for the books. Having heard of SEF in 2010, she initially wanted to work for SEF as a Development Facilitator, but due to logistical inconveniences, had lost that hope.
Mamoepa had always wanted to be an entrepreneur and had decided to take a leap of faith into entrepreneurship after witnessing a 70-year-old client, in a neighboring centre meeting, take SEF’s maximum loan. After witnessing how the elderly client utilized the SEF loan to better her financial circumstances through entrepreneurship, Mamoepa felt encouraged to do the same.
Upon her first loan disbursement, she started selling cosmetics. As her loan amounts increased, she later moved to opening a bakery. She is currently applying for the second largest loan amount and hopes to buy land and begin poultry farming.
