In 2001, SEF partnered with IMAGE launching a 4 year randomized controlled trial (RCT) combining our microcredit programme with a 12-month gender and health education curriculum. To date, 12,300 at-risk women have participated in the curriculum. The randomized controlled trial saw a 55% reduction in intimate partner violence over the course of 2 years. The study has left a lasting impact on our approach to poverty, and our partnership with IMAGE continues to this day.
The research papers featured below provide greater detail and analysis of the IMAGE study. To read a brief, click here.
